Your morning routine is so important because it sets the mood for the rest of the day. If you wake up and press the snooze button, you’ll find that you’re constantly running behind during the day. If you wake up and focus on prioritizing wellness, you’ll have a stress-free and productive day.

With our busy lifestyles, it’s easy to wake up late, grab a coffee, and rush to the next location. We don’t have time to stop and enjoy our lives. Over time, we start to feel overwhelmed, exhausted, and constantly stressed. If you’ve ever felt these emotions before, you came across the right post!

I started out just like you. I would wake up and feel tired and irritable. These feelings would stay with me and before I knew it, my day would go by in the blink of an eye. When I started practicing mindfulness and developing healthy habits, there was a drastic change in my productivity and overall mood. In this post, I’ll explain the steps I took to creating a wellness-centered morning routine and how you can create one too! All you have to do is follow these steps:

PLANNING MY DAY THE NIGHT BEFORE

The last thing I want is waking up and having no idea what I’m supposed to get done. Before going to bed, I wrote down the main tasks I wanted to work on the next day. I also made sure to check if I had any appointments or scheduled activities.

NOT PRESSING THE SNOOZE BUTTON

By not pressing the snooze button, I started my day on the right foot. This simple act made sure I had enough time in the morning to practice my wellness habits.

DRINKING A GLASS OF WATER

After sleeping for many hours, your body will be dehydrated. When I started drinking a glass of water as soon as I woke up, I felt refreshed and ready to take on my day.

WRITING IN A JOURNAL

Sometimes I wake up with my thoughts cluttered and my mind all over the place. I find that writing in a journal helps relieve my stress and clear my mind. I also write down 5 things I’m grateful for to remind myself of all the blessings in my life.

MEDITATE OR PRACTICING YOGA FOR 15 MINUTES

Meditation is great for relaxing your mind, increasing concentration, and creating awareness of your senses. Yoga increases blood flow, strengthens your muscles, and improves your balance and flexibility. Both activities have positive health benefits that will yield great results in the long term. I alternate between meditation and yoga depending on what I want to focus on.

EATING A NUTRITIOUS BREAKFAST

Milkshake Smoothies

Breakfast is so important! Every morning, I drink a smoothie and try out different healthy recipes. Some common breakfast ideas include oatmeal with berries, yogurt with granola, avocado toast, eggs, and whole wheat bread. There are many recipes online you can follow. Just search: “Healthy recipe ideas.”

Smoothies are great to accompany your meal! I love using Grandhealth’s Spirulina or Marine Elixir Collagen Tripeptide in my smoothies.

Here are 2 of my personal recipes that you can try out:

Kale Smoothie

1 frozen banana
½ cup kale
1 cup almond milk (you can use any type of milk)
1 capsule Grandhealth Spirulina

Strawberry Banana Smoothie

1 frozen banana
½ cup frozen strawberries
1 cup almond milk (you can use any type of milk)
1 satchet Grandhealth Marine Elixir Collagen Tripeptide

Another ingredient option:

You can switch out any of the Grandhealth products above with Mega Strain Probiotic ABC.

I recommend trying out Grandhealth’s supplements (they taste pretty great in smoothies!)  For more information, visit https://www.grand-health.com/

TAKING CARE OF MY SKIN AND GETTING DRESSED

So many people don’t take care of their skin because they’re always in a rush in the morning. Remember to set time aside for your skincare routine. I started looking more radiant and refreshed as soon as I followed a routine. (Make sure you’re using products that work for you!)
Afterwards, I put on an outfit that makes me feel confident. When you look your best, you feel your best too!

LISTEN TO A PODCAST

This step is completely optional. Sometimes I listen to a podcast while I’m eating breakfast or completing other tasks. I love learning about new topics and hearing other people’s inspirational messages. I highly recommend trying this out, especially if you drive to work. That way, you feel like you’re doing something productive while driving.

Those are all the steps I set time aside for every morning. I know they may seem tedious and unnecessary but trust me, they’re so important for establishing a wellness-centered routine! The steps take a total of 40 minutes to complete, which is why I wake up early every day. I want to make the most out of my morning and so should you! You don’t have to do all the steps, just find whatever works for you. If you set goals, you’ll slowly be able to add certain habits to your morning.

I hope you can use my routine as an example to create your own. I wish you all the best on your journey to creating a wellness morning routine!
